Interesting when you study this scripture how it says the younger son squandered his inheritance on “wild living” but never details what that “wild living” was….
The older son tells his father that his brother spent all his $ on prostitutes… although he doesn’t know that to be true nor do we as readers today. What it does point out is that is what the elder son likely would have done w the $ if he were the one to of run off. Exposes the evil heart of the older brother as the words come from his heart.
Wow! I'd never seen this parable explained like this and drawing the parallel to the "tax collectors and sinners" and Pharisees. Thank you! Brings much more depth and meaning beyond the younger brothers return and the older brothers rebuff of his father.
