Glad he did. I doubt Colbert’s faith, but if he is a genuine believer in Christ, that is wonderful. If he is not, I have no doubt that God can use the mouth of an ass to speak truth.
What he shared might have been positive or encouraging to some, but let's be honest--it wasn't a gospel presentation at all. It wasn't even a bad one... it wasn't one at all. I'm not sure Colbert is even capable of a gospel presentation. Also, there's a difference between admitting your mistakes, and admitting your mistakes and being applauded for it. I think most of the outrage about it was directed at Tim Keller for praising it as thought it WAS a low-key gospel presentation.
From what I gather, Mr. Colbert believes in an afterlife. He said as much very eloquently. And so do most Americans. This was not an example of 1 Peter 3:15.
Thank you for your perspective on today's pressing issues, and on the balanced approach to Steve Cobert's segment. While I don't like his 'comedy' and would not agree with most of his political views, we as citizens of God's kingdom are so quick to incinerate all who disagree with us. I pray that Steve is a fellow citizen of God's kingdom, and as such we need to be about Kingdom building and not nationalism and empire building.

God is the only righteous judge but as a fruit inspector, I'm highly skeptical

Christians should also beware of falling into the so-called Purity Spiral.
